Practice Areas: Real estate and business transactions: zoning, permitting and licensing matters; purchase, sale, leasing and financing of real estate; and purchase and sale of businesses.

Representative Clients: Steve has guided several local food and beverage establishments through the municipal approval process, including Panera Breadthe Hotel Indigo Dunn Gaherin’s, Fiorella’sO’Hara’sTartufoThe BiltmoreBill’s PizzeriaPeet’s CoffeeBaza and b Street.

He has also obtained special permits for the Charles River Country Club, the Woodland Golf ClubHess Express and The Fay School. Steve is currently representing BH Normandy Riverside, LLC in connection with the development of the Riverside MBTA site as well as Sovereign Bank in connection with a new branch. He has represented institutional lenders including The Village Bank, Century Bank and Boston Private Bank and Trust Company; developers of multi-family housing; and buyers and sellers of single-family homes. He has drafted condominium documents for both large and small condominiums. Steve also has acts as general counsel to a number of small businesses.

Community: Steve served as Chairman of the Newton Housing Authority for 15 years and is a member of the Board of Directors and Head Usher at Congregation Mishkan Tefila. He is also involved with the Newton Athletic Association and is a certified high school basketball official.
